Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then found multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials state initial examinations indicate the liquid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
City officials announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the public for information.
An important representative said the attack made him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
